We often get questions from family members about healthcare benefits continuing after the retiree has passed away. It can become very confusing at a most difficult time.
Additionally, there are differences between a grandfathered retiree’s provisions and a non-grandfathered retiree that even the AT&T call centers regarding benefits cannot respond adequately.
AT&T has prepared the chart below to display coverage when a retiree passes for both classes of retirees for the continuation of benefits for their dependents.
Any time a retiree or a dependent pass away the company must be notified via the Fidelity Service Center at: 1-800-416-2363 and follow the prompts to report a death.
